ANNOUNCES THE APPLICATION PROCESS FOR THE ELIGIBILITY LIST FOR

The Coventry Police Department is currently accepting resumes for Police Dispatcher. This position is part-time with regularly scheduled hours of Friday and Saturday 4pm to Midnight, and Monday Midnight to 8am. The nature of work includes operation of a police base-station radio, computer information terminal, answering emergency and non-emergency telephone calls, and other related work as required. Candidates must be able to carry out oral and written instructions; efficiently and effectively handle public contact through telephone or walk-in; ability to learn the operations of a radio base station and computer-aided dispatch; the ability to remain calm and self-controlled during emergency situations; and the ability to multi-task. Qualified candidates should have a high school diploma and one year of experience involving sustained and intense public contact.

The Police Dispatcher application process includes successfully passing a written test, an oral board interview, and an extensive background investigation. A study guide for the Emergency Communication Center Candidate written test is available at this link:
The written test is tentatively scheduled for Monday December 10th, but applicants will receive an email with the exact date, time, and location.
There is a $20 Application fee. Please make checks or money orders payable to The Town of Coventry.
