Please welcome our newest member to the K9 Unit......Comfort K9 Jovie!!!
K9 Jovie and her handler, School Resource Officer Ferri, have been bringing joy to everyone they encounter as they embark on CPD's first comfort K9 mission. The duo officially paired up in the beginning of 2024. During this time K9 is still training on her duties as a comfort canine, but she is already a natural. In addition to that assignment, K9 Jovie will also be trained in tracking.
On 1/14/22, Sgt. Brandon Sullivan and his furry partner, K9 Nixo, wrapped up 6-months of in-depth training in the areas of narcotics detection and patrol work, which consists of tracking, article searches, and suspect apprehension. K9 Nixo, an 18-month old Dutch Shepherd is very excited to get to work.
