It is Illegal for private parties to trap and transport wildlife in the State of Rhode Island.
When you trap and transport wildlife, you put yourself at risk for exposure to zooanotic diseases such as rabies, which is fatal if contracted. You also risk spreading diseases to previously healthy domestic and wildlife populations when you introduce a new animal to a new area and population. You may also be releasing the animal to a location where there are not the proper resources for it to survive. Below are some helpful links.
